Metallica Returning To Minnesota For Two Nights, Featuring Two Different Sets
Big news swept through Minnesota Monday morning when Metallica announced a two-year world tour that will include a two-night stop in Minnesota. Even better, the two nights will be two completely different shows, featuring not only two different set lists, but also two different opening acts. The band last played in Minnesota in 2018.
The "M72 World Tour" coincides with the announcement of Metallica's 12th studio album, 72 Seasons. The new album, scheduled to be released on April 14, 2023, will be Metallica's first studio album since 2016's Hardwired... to Self-Destruct.
The "M72 World Tour" will be in at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Friday, August 16 and Sunday, August 18, 2024. Here is the scheduled lineup for each night:
Friday August 16, 2024
- Metallica
- Pantera
- Mammoth WVH
Sunday, August 18, 2024
- Metallica
- Five Finger Death Punch
- Ice Nine Kills
Although the Minneapolis shows aren’t until 2024, tickets will be on sale this week through Ticketmaster.
Presales begin as early as Wednesday, November 30. Tickets will be on sale to the general public on Friday, December 2 at 10:00 a.m. CST.
Metallica announced a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will go towards their nonprofit All Within My Hands Foundation.
All Within My Hands is a non-profit, philanthropic organization created by the members and management of Metallica, dedicated to creating sustainable communities by supporting workforce education, the fight against hunger, and other critical local services.
The U.S. Bank Stadium shows will be in the round, with the stage setup on the 50 yard line. There will be general admission tickets available on the field, with reserved seats available in the lower and upper level sections of the stadium.
