Minnesota Dairy Farmer Posts Heartbreaking Video [VIDEO]
Mark Berg is from Pine Island Minnesota and his parents own Trailside Dairy. He has worked at the farm his whole entire life and wanted to make a video for people to see and hear just how tough it is for farmers in America right now. According to Mark the average Dairy Farmer in Minnesota made less than $15,000 in 2018. That to me is insane and is wrong in so many ways.
Growing up in Southern Wisconsin in a Milwaukee suburb all I knew my whole life was that Wisconsin was the dairy state and how awesome it was to live in a place that made delicious cheese and ice cream etc. Even as an adult when I first starting seeing ads for California Dairy Farmers I got all offended and thought no you are not Americas Dairy land. But the truth is this whole country is made up of farmers working sun up to sun down to provide food for this country and they are struggling and this has to stop.
I don't know what the solution is except to think before you shop, buy local as much as you can, support the farmers markets and the individual farmer who is selling vegetables and fruit by the side of the road. This is a tragedy what has happened to the American Farmer. Please watch the video below it is absolutely heart breaking but important.
