A deer was spotted floating on a chunk of ice by nearby dock workers in Alloueze Bay. Video and picture of the deer stranded went around social media yesterday afternoon, and authorities were able to respond and rescue the deer by going out to it with a small boat.

According to FOX 21, the deer actually jumped off the ice and started swimming when the firefighters had to lasso it and bring it in.

The deer ran off into the woods and hopefully will be a little more careful on this early ice, as you should too. Last week 35 anglers were rescued after their ice sheet broke off with a wind change and they became stranded in the bay.
