I had some friends over the other day and we got on the discussion of what everyone was planning for New Year's Eve.  We all agreed we didn't know what to do but that we should all get together for it.  This got me thinking about places I have been in past years to celebrate, and based on that I have a few suggestions that may help you decide if you haven't yet chosen your party spot.

1.  Dubh Linn Irish Brew Pub

This is the one I have been to most in past years.  It's generally always a good time entertainment wise and if you like scotch or good whiskey, it's a good place to be.  There is a $75 per person cost for this year but it is quite the package deal including a 3 course dinner, entertainment from Dueling Pianos, additional live music and more.  You can get your tickets for this and find out more here.

2.  Duluth Mayor's New Year's Eve Party at The Depot

This one is a Northland tradition.  Hosted by Fox 21's Dan Hanger and Nikki Davidson, it's a night of food, entertainment, adult beverages, and a chance to dress up all fancy.  This year there will be music from The lake City Smoking Section and DJ Ron spinning tunes too.  Limited Bent Paddle beer is included in your ticket price of $50 for a single one and $80 for couples, plus there will be snacks.  All of the details and ticket information can be found here.

3.  Beaner's Central

For New Year's Eve, Beaner's does kind of a all day thing featuring 24 musical acts hitting the stage.  The best part, it's free, other than what you purchase to eat or drink.  So if on a budget and don't feel like staying home, this would be a good one to hit and catch some local music too.  It starts at 8AM on New Year's Eve and runs until 12:30AM on New Year's Day.  Check it all out at Beaner's Central, 324 N. Central Ave.
Duluth, MN.

4.  Foster's Sports Bar and Grill

Foster's is one of those places that you can always count on for a good time.  Usually they have some kind of entertainment be it live music, a DJ, or karaoke.  I like Foster's because they know how to pour a drink.  I skip the beer there because I know my Jameson Ginger will have plenty of what I actually want in it, Jameson.  With Foster's you don't need to dress fancy, but you certainly can.  Get there early and grab something for dinner off their menu before you rock in the New Year.  They are located at 4767 W Arrowhead Rd, Hermantown, MN and for you stalkers out there, that's probably where I will be.

Where do you like to ring in the New Year?
