The Northeastern Minnesota Book Awards(NEMBA) is an annual ceremony and celebration that showcases and honors authors and books that capture the spirit of the Northland and represent Northeastern Minnesota.

This community celebration is totally free to attend and will feature Margi Preus as the speaker, a book fair, and also refreshments.  Winners of the awards will be announced too from the six categories which include: Nonfiction, Fiction, Art and Photography, Children's Literature, Poetry, and Memoir.  Prizes will also be awarded for each category being judged.

It takes place on Thursday, May 18th at the Northland Country Club in Duluth.  The event book fair and reception is from 5-6:30PM followed by the speaker and awards presentation from 6:30-8:30PM and then the book fair continues.  The Northland Country Club is located at 3901 East Superior Street and more information about the awards categories and the rest of the evening can be found here.
