UPDATE: 8/11/20: This event has been cancelled.
ORIGINAL POST: 08/07/20:
Most of us can agree that 2020 has been not the best year. Cancelled, postponed, or hybrids versions of events and concerts we are used to has been a bummer. Even some events that have continued on despite the COVID, you might have passed up on because you don't quite know if it's safe enough to attend.
Superior Porchfest is right around the corner though and will be a great socially distanced event for family fun, plus, it's free. It takes place on the third Saturday in August, so this year it's August 15th. It's in Superior's Central Park neighborhood and it's a family-friendly music and arts festival. The community gathering invites everyone, from musicians, patrons, neighbors, porch hosts, artists, and more. It's all in effort to unify the city and community and shine some light on what's been not the greatest of years so far.
You can get more information on this totally free event on the Superior Parks, Recreation, and Forestry page HERE. You can also call 715-395-7270 for more details on this and other community events offered that are free or low cost. The event starts at Noon and runs until 6:00PM and Central Park is located at 717 Sixth Avenue East in Superior.
It's a good opportunity to get out of the house, socially distance and enjoy some tunes and good company. Also, if you live around the park, maybe grab that guitar or instrument and have a mini porch concert for others to enjoy.
