First Time Homebuyers In Minnesota Should Check Out This Class
Anyone who has bought a home knows how stressful it can be. Especially nowadays with the market, and interest rates which at least seem to be getting a bit better.
I rented for a lot of years until buying a home for myself, and I was fortunate enough to have a good lender and two good realtors who helped walk me through the process. Even with their help, it was still stressful.
I probably should have taken a First Time Homebuyer class but figured with all of the online information and the help of those mentioned above, I wouldn't need it. While I did get by and it all worked out, I still had numerous questions throughout the process.
If you are going to be in the market for your first home, I'd suggest checking out a Homebuyer Class like the one offered by Community Action Duluth. Classes run monthly and are part of a four-part series being roughly 12-16 hours long.
In class you will learn about budgeting to save for a house, understanding credit reports and how that system works, and getting out of debt. The knowledge alone will be helpful but it also comes with a Homebuyer Education Certificate which can help with certain lenders down the road.
You can register for one of the Community Action Duluth Classes by emailing: okrenz @ communityactionduluth.org.
