There are plenty of companies currently hiring all over the country and the shortage of workers can be seen in many industries and fields.  It's not just lower paying jobs though, it's also ones that pay well and offer some great benefits including retirement plans if you're willing to put in the time and effort.

In particular, I'm talking about the construction trades.  They generally offer you the opportunity to earn while you learn on the job which is a pretty sweet deal.  In my opinion anyway, that's the best way to learn, by doing the work under the direction of someone who is seasoned.

If you're in line with that thinking and want to see what opportunities are out there, you might want to check out Construction Career Night.  It's on Tuesday, March 12th from 4:30-6:30PM at the DECC in Duluth, MN.

14 Construction Unions will be in attendance to provide information about apprenticeship programs and give you a better idea of how the construction trades can be a great career path.

In addition, there will be tools and equipment you can try out to further show you the kind of high paying work that is out there.  The event is free to attend and there is no charge for parking either.

I've attended events like this in the past and can't speak highly enough about them and their showcase of so many career potential opportunities under one roof for someone ready to get to work.
