Did You Know About This Cute Local Coffee Shop Hidden In Duluth’s Canal Park?

I'll admit it, I'm ashamed I hadn't heard about this place sooner!

I tend to enjoy seeking out fun little local spots for food, cocktails, and coffee in the Twin Ports area. Somehow, this place that opened up a little over a year ago managed to open in Canal Park without me discovering it sooner.

On a gloomy Duluth day recently, I popped into the DeWitt Seitz Building in Canal Park to see what was going on inside. It had been a while since I had really explored the local shops in the building, so I walked around and checked things out, walking into a shop on the second floor that I had walked by before but never really spent much time in.

Natutalight Candles on the second floor of the DeWitt Seitz complex in Duluth's Canal Park has been around for a few years now, selling some amazing-smelling locally-made candles and gifts. It's a cute little spot that has some wonderful items.

The part I didn't know is that Naturalight added a coffee bar to their Canal Park shop a little over a year ago. They first started welcoming customers for coffee in January of 2024, serving up a variety of coffee drinks and more ever since.

When it comes to coffee shop options in Canal Park, Caribou Coffee tends to get most of the attention. Having another, local option is a fun addition to Canal Park!

While you can get some pretty great coffee at places like The Social House as part of a meal, if you're just looking to grab a beverage to walk around Canal Park with, Naturalight is a spot you might not know about that's worth a visit!

The store is open 7 am to 7 pm daily. They offer a full menu of hot and cold espresso drinks, drip coffee, teas, lemonades, and other specialty beverages and have both dairy and non-dairy milk options. All of their coffee drinks are crafted using locally-roasted beans, so getting your drink here supports local - twice!

A couple of the specials that were highlighted on their coffee bar when I stopped by include a couple of amazing-sounding beverages like the "Sugar Pie-Honey Bunch" cinnamon bun and French vanilla cold brew, or the "Bramble Matcha" matcha lemonade.

If you're looking to check out Naturalight's coffee bar, they're on the North side of the second floor of the DeWitt Seitz Building in Duluth's Canal Park, in the same space their candle shop has also occupied for the last few years.

Naturalight also has a second location in the Enger Lofts Marketplace in Duluth's Lincoln Park, but that is just a retail space for their candles and gifts, and doesn't feature coffee.

A place that does happen to have coffee in that building is 190° Coffee And Tea, which just so happens to be on this list of the best-rated locally-owned coffee shops in Northern Minnesota!
