If you're anything like me, you are already counting down to Halloween. I saw on social media the other day that we are officially halfway to the best holiday ever and that made me curious. What are some unknown haunted locations in the area I can trek to when it is safe to do so?

I did some research and came across a supposed haunted location just over an hour from the Duluth area. It is located in Buhl, which is about an hour and a half drive to be exact. The haunted location in question is Lakeview Cemetery.

So what makes the spot spooky? According to Haunted Rooms America, it is one of the most haunted cemeteries in America, with visitors reporting strange smells, hearing footsteps and odd voices and reports of weird flashes of light and mist.

To make matters even spookier, the whole cemetery is surrounded by forest. Hauntedrooms.com also reports the cemetery is next to an area called Potter's Field, where patients from a nearby hospital were buried without names and headstones due to a lack of funding back in the early 1900s.

I am creeped out just reading about it. How creepy! The exact address is 7936 Township Road if you're planning some fun getaways once restrictions are lifted from COVID-19.

There is also another haunted cemetery located just a short drive from Duluth. The Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery is another supposedly haunted location. Legend has it that it is haunted by a hitchhiking ghost, a teenage girl who was left in the area many years ago.
