All across the Northland one of the biggest controversies in all of 2020 what when we were all threatened with going through the entire holiday season without having classic, beloved Charlie Brown television specials available on TV.

Okay, that may be a bit melodramatic but the fact that we could actually miss out on "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown", “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” seemed especially cruel after all the bad news and craziness 2020 had already given us.

Ultimately, the Thanksgiving and Christmas specials did find their way to TV, thanks to a last minute partnership between Apple and PBS, but we all had to get through Halloween without "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown", unless you were able to stream shows through Apple TV Plus. Thankfully, that will not be the case this year.

According to Variety, Apple has once again partnered with PBS to air the classic Charlie Brown Specials and this time all three will be made available.

Not only that, there will be a brand new Charlie Brown special for families to enjoy. Variety is also reporting there will be a New Year's Eve special this year called “For Auld Lang Syne,” which will premiere globally on Friday, December 10 through Apple TV.

Variety notes that “For Auld Lang Syne” is the first Peanuts TV special ever with a title that does not include the name of Charlie Brown or Snoopy and it's also the first new original holiday special to come following a partnership struck by Apple last year with WildBrain, Peanuts Worldwide and Lee Mendelson Film Productions.

Of course, you can control your own television destiny by hitting Amazon to purchase all of these classic specials on old school DVD. In fact, all you have to do is click on any of the TV specials pictured above to purchase them right now and have them delivered right to your home.

That's what I decided to do, just to guarantee that I could share these childhood favorites for years to come without wondering where and when they might be available from other sources.
